The short version
This site sets no cookies of its own. GetYourGuide Partner Analytics and affiliate widgets may load third-party scripts for commission tracking. The personal information submitted directly to this site is what you type into the contact form or newsletter sign-up, and it is used to reply to you or send the newsletter.
Information We Collect
There are two ways this website receives personal information from you, and both of them require you to type something in and press a button:
- The contact form. Your name, email address, and — if you choose to supply them — your phone number, the type of enquiry, your planned travel dates and your message.
- The newsletter sign-up. Your email address.
We do not collect anything else. There is no account system, no login, no comment section and no user profile.
Cookies and Tracking
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no local storage. GetYourGuide Partner Analytics and affiliate widgets may load third-party scripts for commission tracking when pages include affiliate content. GetYourGuide handles information under its own privacy practices.
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads. Google receives your IP address as part of that request, in the same way any server does when you fetch a file from it. No cookie is set by that request.
How Form Submissions Are Handled
Forms on this site are processed by Netlify, our hosting provider, which receives the submission and forwards it to us by email. Netlify also records the IP address a submission came from and applies spam filtering to it. Netlify acts as our service provider for this purpose and does not use your submission for its own marketing.
How We Use It
Contact form submissions are used to answer your enquiry. Newsletter sign-ups are used to send you the newsletter. We do not sell personal information, we do not trade or rent it, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing.
How Long We Keep It
Contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up, then deleted. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
Your Rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@margaretriver.com.au and we will action the request. Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information.
Links to Other Sites
This guide links to wineries, restaurants, accommodation providers, tour operators, event organisers and government agencies. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's website under someone else's privacy policy, and we have no control over what they collect.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted. No payment information is ever collected through this website.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page. Material changes will be summarised at the top.
